カール・バラーとピート・ドハーティという二人のカリスマ的フロントマンを中心に97年に結成されたバンドがザ・クラッシュのミック・ジョーンズをプロデューサーに迎え、2002年10月21日にリリースされた本作はシンプルなロックンロールとDIY精神に溢れる活動で、タイトル通り当時の疲弊していたブリット・ポプ・シーンの喉仏に強烈なパンチを見舞い、若者を中心に圧倒的な支持を獲得。
